A process to turn mixed waste plastic into clean-burning diesel fuel and kerosene has reached the commercialization stage, after years of development work. The patented process, utilizes a high-temperature technology, Therma-pyrolysis, to convert plastic to fuel. Contamination and impurities are destroyed. Also, with few exceptions, mixed plastic waste from landfills composed of most major resin grades can be used as a feedstock for the process.
